While filius means son in Latin, this generation might think it affiliated with a Harry Potter character – Filius Flatus or maybe Filius Fabulosa. I digress. The range is very good, presenting any-day drinking options with more oomph than the Classic wines. Not too complicated or complex yet often excellent and well priced for the quality. Mulberries and cassis, star anise and wood cedar but not oaky, only used barrels for ageing. Hints of dark chocolate, juniper and mint, while the medium-bodied palate has a bit of puckering acidity and decent tannins. Pour now, enjoy with hearty fare.
