Taittinger Brut Réserve NV — FIFA World Cup 2022 Limited Edition
A Reims Icon in a Collector's Bottle — Taittinger's Signature Style Meets the World's Biggest Stage
My Wine Man on Taittinger
Founded in Reims in 1932, Taittinger is one of the last great family-owned Champagne houses. Where many houses lean on Pinot Noir for power and structure, Taittinger built its reputation on Chardonnay: the house holds some of the finest Grand Cru Chardonnay vineyards in the Côte des Blancs. The Brut Réserve NV is the house's flagship — a blend of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, and 30% Pinot Meunier, aged 3 to 4 years in the cellars beneath Reims before release. This FIFA World Cup 2022 Limited Edition bottle — dressed in the colours of the Qatar desert sand dunes and bubbles — makes it one of the most collectible expressions of the cuvée ever released.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant golden straw-yellow with a fine, discreet, and persistent mousse. The nose is expressive and open — fresh peach, white flowers, and a delicate vanilla pod note, underpinned by a subtle brioche character from extended cellaring. On the palate, lively and fresh with a beautiful harmony of fruit and acidity. Delicate flavours of fresh fruit and honey carry through to a clean, elegant finish.
Style & Drinking Window
Light to medium-bodied with fine bubbles and a lean, elegant structure — the hallmark of Taittinger's Chardonnay-led house style. Serve well-chilled at 8–10°C. Drinking beautifully now through 2027.
Food Pairing
The Chardonnay-driven elegance and fresh peach character of the Taittinger Brut Réserve FIFA WC Edition make it a beautiful match for Australian Grass-Fed Lamb Midloin Chop from My Meat Man. The wine's refined brioche finish complements the tender, naturally sweet grass-fed lamb beautifully — whether grilled with rosemary and garlic, pan-seared with mint and lemon, or roasted with a herb crust.
