A Precise, Modern Champagne from One of the Region's Most Innovative and Respected Family Houses — The Collection That Reinvented the NV

My Wine Man on Louis Roederer

Louis Roederer is one of Champagne's most respected family-owned houses — and one of its most forward-thinking. Founded in 1776 and still independently owned by the Rouzaud family, the estate farms a significant portion of its own vineyards and is known for its commitment to biodynamic viticulture, precision farming and minimal intervention winemaking. While Cristal is its most famous wine, the Collection range represents the house's most modern and intellectual expression. Collection 246 is built around the 2020 base vintage and blended with a perpetual reserve system — a living library of previous vintages that adds depth, continuity and complexity.

Tasting Notes

Citrus, mirabelle plum and ripe orchard fruit define the aromatics, supported by subtle toasted brioche and fine mineral undertones. The palate is precise and structured, with fine bubbles carrying flavours of lemon zest, stone fruit and light pastry notes. Balanced acidity gives drive and energy, while the finish is clean, long and mineral-driven.

Style & Drinking Window

Medium-bodied with fine, persistent bubbles, balanced acidity, and a clean, mineral-driven finish. Drinking beautifully now. Serve at 8–10°C.

Food Pairing

The mineral precision and citrus brightness of the Louis Roederer Collection 246 make it a beautiful match for Australian Bone-In Butterflied Chicken in Sweet Garlic & Herb Marinade from My Meat Man. The wine's stone fruit and toasted brioche complement the fragrant sweet garlic and herb marinade beautifully — whether roasted in the oven for crispy golden skin, spatchcocked over charcoal, or finished with a Champagne and shallot deglaze.

Why This Is a Smart Buy

At HK$369, estate-grown Champagne from over 240 hectares of Roederer vineyards, combined with a perpetual reserve system. One of the most intelligently constructed non-vintage Champagnes on the market today.
