56 Herbs. One Legendary German Liqueur.

Jägermeister is one of the world's most recognisable and best-selling liqueurs — and behind the iconic green bottle and the stag lies a drink of genuine complexity and heritage. Crafted in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony, since 1934 to a recipe that has never changed, Jägermeister is made from a secret blend of 56 herbs, roots, fruits, and spices sourced from around the world — including ginger, cardamom, star anise, citrus peel, and liquorice root. Each batch is aged for over a year in oak barrels before blending, giving the liqueur its characteristic depth, smoothness, and complexity. At 35% ABV and HK$219 for 700ml, this is a bottle that works equally well ice-cold as a shot, sipped slowly as a digestif, or as the backbone of a serious cocktail.

Tasting Notes

Deep mahogany in the glass with a rich, viscous texture. The nose is immediately complex and aromatic — warm spice leads with star anise, ginger, and cardamom, layered with herbal bitterness, citrus peel, and a subtle sweetness from liquorice root. On the palate, the 56 botanicals reveal themselves in waves: bitter herbs and roots up front, warming spice through the mid-palate, and a long, smooth finish with notes of dark chocolate, menthol, and oak. Best served ice-cold at −18°C, where the texture becomes gloriously syrupy and the flavours concentrate beautifully.

Signature Cocktails

Jäger Mule

  • 50ml Jägermeister
  • 120ml ginger beer
  • 15ml fresh lime juice
  • Ice
  • Garnish: lime wedge, sprig of fresh mint

Method: Fill a copper mug or highball glass with ice. Pour in the Jägermeister and fresh lime juice, then top with ginger beer. Stir gently once to combine. Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of fresh mint. The ginger beer amplifies Jägermeister's own ginger and spice botanicals beautifully, while the lime cuts through the richness and keeps the drink bright and refreshing. A far more sophisticated serve than the shot glass — and just as satisfying.

Jäger Cold Brew

  • 50ml Jägermeister (ice-cold)
  • 100ml cold brew coffee
  • 15ml simple syrup
  • Ice
  • Garnish: 3 coffee beans

Method: Fill a rocks glass with ice. Pour in the ice-cold Jägermeister, then add the cold brew coffee and simple syrup. Stir to combine. Garnish with 3 coffee beans. The herbal bitterness and dark chocolate notes of Jägermeister marry extraordinarily well with cold brew coffee — the result is a drink that is rich, complex, and deeply satisfying, with a long, warming finish that lingers well after the last sip.
