2022 Vasse Felix Premier Chardonnay
A Margaret River Gem from One of Australia's Most Storied Estates
Vasse Felix is the founding winery of Margaret River — established in 1967 and now one of Australia's most respected producers of both Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The Premier Chardonnay sits at the heart of the estate's white wine range, sitting above the Filius and below the flagship Heytesbury — a wine of genuine ambition and regional character.
Tasting Notes
Bright golden straw with a green tinge. The nose is elegant and composed — white peach, nectarine, and grapefruit citrus are framed by subtle struck flint and a gentle toasty oak note from careful barrel work. On the palate, medium-full bodied with a creamy mid-palate texture, lively acidity, and flavours of stone fruit, lemon curd, and a fine mineral thread.
Food Pairing
The stone fruit richness and mineral precision of the 2022 Vasse Felix Premier Chardonnay make it a superb match for Canadian Wild King Salmon Fillet from My Meat Man — pan-seared with brown butter and tarragon, the rich oily flesh is a magnificent match for the wine's creamy mid-palate and citrus acidity.
Why This Is a Smart Buy
