From a single vineyard in the foothills of McLaren Vale on clay loam with ironstone over Kurrajong Formation geology; matured in mostly older French Oak for 18 months. Damson, de rigueur blackberry and anise, spiced cherry, mocha, allspice and clove, violet and a rocky, ferrous minerality, the palate bound with fine tannin and freshening acidity, with air required to unlock. This is fine value, handmade from quality fruit and benefitting from the cool year, with a charming elegance to the profile.
