2022 Dalrymple Pinot Noir

Dalrymple is one of Tasmania's most consistent Pinot Noir producers, and the 2022 is a standout — sourced from three of the island's finest sub-regions: Pipers River, Coal River Valley, and Ouse. The result is a wine of real complexity and purity, with the cool-climate precision that makes Tasmanian Pinot so compelling.

My Wine Man

This is for the Pinot lover who wants something genuinely interesting. Dalrymple winemaker Peter Caldwell has been producing some of the most exciting Pinot Noir in Australia, and the 2022 shows exactly why. If you enjoy Burgundy-style reds with fragrance, finesse, and a savoury edge, this is a must-try.

Tasting Notes

Garnet in colour with a lovely sense of composition. Red and dark cherry, wild strawberry and pomegranate, lifted by pressed wildflowers and a distinctive savoury note of Chinese barbecue and five-spice. Pure and endearing on the palate, with a sapid flow and a brightly illuminated, lingering finish.

Style & Drinking Window

Light to medium-bodied with silky tannins and vibrant acidity. Drinking beautifully now and will reward another 3–5 years in the cellar. Serve lightly chilled at 14–16°C. A natural match for duck, salmon, mushroom risotto, or charcuterie.

Why This Is a Smart Buy

Multi-vineyard sourcing across Pipers River, Coal River Valley, and Ouse gives the wine a complexity that single-site bottles rarely achieve at this level. Dalrymple is one of the most exciting names in Tasmanian wine right now, and this is one of the best-value Pinots in the store.
