2021 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Shiraz
Margaret River Shiraz from One of Australia's Most Iconic Estates
The 2021 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Shiraz is a bold, structured expression of Margaret River Shiraz from one of Australia's most celebrated wine estates. Rich, savoury, and built for the cellar, this is a wine that rewards patience — the oak is prominent now but will integrate beautifully with time, revealing the rich, ripe fruit within.
My Wine Man on Leeuwin Estate
Leeuwin Estate was established in 1974 after Robert Mondavi visited the site and declared it one of the finest he had ever seen. The Art Series is the pinnacle of the estate — each label a commissioned artwork, each wine a statement of what Margaret River can achieve at its very best. The Shiraz is a less well-known member of the Art Series family, but carries the same commitment to quality and the same capacity for long-term development.
Tasting Notes
Savoury and spicy on the nose with bitter chocolate, dried herbs, and sweet cedary oak. The palate is full-bodied with rich, ripe fruit and pomace-like tannins that give the wine real structure and grip. A wine that is still coming together — best approached with patience or a long decant.
Style & Drinking Window
Full-bodied with prominent oak and firm tannins. Best approached from 2026 onwards as the oak integrates and the fruit asserts itself. Will drink well through 2033–2035. Decant for at least 1–2 hours, or cellar for 3–5 years for the best experience.
Why This Is a Smart Buy
At HK$269, this is Art Series quality at an accessible price — a wine from one of Australia's most iconic estates that is built for the long haul. Those who cellar it will be rewarded. A great addition to any serious wine collection, or a gift for someone with the patience to wait.
