2019 Teusner The Wark Family Shiraz
Teusner's Cult Barossa Single-Vineyard Shiraz — The 2019 Vintage
The 2019 Teusner The Wark Family Shiraz is the most recent release of one of the Barossa's most respected boutique single-vineyard Shiraz expressions.
My Wine Man on Teusner
Kym Teusner is one of the Barossa's most celebrated boutique winemakers. The Wark Family Shiraz is one of his most respected single-vineyard expressions — sourced from old, dry-grown Barossa fruit and matured in French oak.
Tasting Notes
Deep crimson with bright fruit. Dark plum, blackberry, dark chocolate, mocha, dried herbs and a touch of clove. The palate is full-bodied with ripe velvety tannins and a long, generous finish.
Style & Drinking Window
Full-bodied with velvety tannins. Drinking beautifully now and through 2032. Decant 1 hour.
Food Pairing
An old-vine Barossa Shiraz of this quality deserves the finest beef. We love it with Australian Grass-Fed Cape Grim Rib-Eye Steak from My Meat Man — dry-aged and char-grilled medium-rare with bone-marrow butter, a magnificent match for The Wark Family's dark plum, mocha and velvety old-vine Barossa tannins.
