The Muga family still works almost everything by hand: their own coopers craft the barrels in-house, fermentations take place in oak vats, and the wines are fined with egg whites in the old way. The Selección Especial is the wine they make when the vintage and the plots align — a careful selection of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano aged in a mix of American and French oak before time in bottle.
