2018 Garagiste Le Stagiaire Pinot Noir
The Intern — Artisan Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir from a Garage Winemaker
The 2018 Garagiste Le Stagiaire Pinot Noir wears its philosophy on its label. Garagiste is French for "garage winemaker". Le Stagiaire means "the intern" — the entry point into the Garagiste range, made with the same artisan philosophy as the flagship wines but at a price that invites discovery.
Tasting Notes
A transparent Pinot Noir with ample crunch and sass, belying a light-weighted — almost ethereal — demeanour. Strawberry, red cherry and orange zest lead the nose, with Campari-like scents adding distinctive complexity.
Style & Drinking Window
Light to medium-bodied, fresh and immediately appealing. Serve slightly chilled at 14°C. Drinking beautifully now with 7 years of bottle age.
Perfect Food Pairing
This light, fresh Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with pork — try with the Murray Valley Free-Range Pork Rack Steak, available from our sister store My Meat Man. The clean, juicy character of premium free-range pork is a classic match for cool-climate Pinot Noir.
