d'Arenberg has been farming McLaren Vale since 1912, five generations of bold, unconventional winemaking. The Dead Arm is d'Arenberg's flagship Shiraz, sourced from 100-year-old vines. In magnum format, this wine ages more gracefully and makes a serious celebration centrepiece.

Tasting Notes

Deep crimson. Blackberry, dark plum, dark chocolate, savoury herbs, black pepper and a touch of cedar. The palate is full-bodied with poised tannins, integrated oak and a long savoury finish.

Full-bodied with poised tannins. Drinking beautifully now in magnum format and built for the long haul. Decant 1-2 hours. Drink through 2040.

Food Pairing

A magnum of McLaren Vale icon deserves the finest beef. We love it with Cape Grim Grass-Fed Tomahawk Steak from My Meat Man, reverse-seared low and slow before a hard finish on the grill, a magnificent match for the magnum-aged Dead Arm's blackberry, dark chocolate and savoury McLaren Vale tannins.
