Eldredge is a family winery in the Clare Valley — one of South Australia's finest regions for Cabernet Sauvignon, known for its cool nights, red soils, and wines of real elegance and longevity. The Louie is named after winemaker Leigh Eldredge's father-in-law, who loved a glass or two of ‘Claret’ each evening. It is a family favourite year in, year out — and the 2015 is now 11 years old and drinking beautifully.

My Wine Man

This is for someone who wants a Clare Valley Cabernet with a story behind it. The Louie is made with real care and affection — a wine built for the dinner table, not the trophy cabinet. Full and round, with generous fruit and well-judged oak, it's the kind of bottle that makes every evening feel a little more special. Exactly what Louie would have wanted.

Tasting Notes

Complex aromatics of pipe tobacco, ripe blueberry and spiced plum. Matured in a mix of French and American oak of various ages, the oak is present but not overbearing. Full and round on the palate with generous fruit flavours, structural elements that carry the wine gently, and a long, elegant finish.

Style & Drinking Window

Medium to full-bodied with polished tannins and a long, elegant finish. Drinking beautifully now after 11 years of bottle age. Serve at 16–18°C. A natural match for roasted lamb, beef, duck, or a good cheese board.

Why This Is a Smart Buy

Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from a family producer, now 11 years old and at its peak — at HK$149, this is exceptional value for a bottle of this quality and character. Eldredge makes wine with genuine passion, and the Louie is the heart of their range.
