96–97pts | 18 Years of Bottle Age — Leeuwin Art Series at Its Peak

The 2007 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon is a rare opportunity to experience one of Australia's greatest Cabernets at or approaching its absolute peak. Now 18 years old, the 2007 has evolved into something truly special — delicate, earthy, and possessed of a beautiful purity that only comes with time. This is not a wine to cellar further; it is a wine to open, savour, and remember.

My Wine Man on Leeuwin Estate

Leeuwin Estate was established in 1974 after Robert Mondavi visited the site and declared it one of the finest he had ever seen for Cabernet Sauvignon. The Art Series is the pinnacle of the estate — each label a commissioned artwork, each wine a statement of what Margaret River can achieve at its very best. The 2007 vintage is widely regarded as one of the finest in the Art Series Cabernet's long history, and bottles at this age are extraordinarily rare.

Tasting Notes

Medium-deep garnet with a complex, evolved nose of kirsch, red currant jelly, and blackberry tart, with hints of sandalwood and cinnamon toast. The palate is firm and on the delicate side in terms of style — earthy, refined, and possessed of beautiful purity. Eighteen years of bottle age have integrated everything seamlessly. This is Cabernet Sauvignon at its most elegant.

Style & Drinking Window

Medium to full-bodied with fine, fully integrated tannins and a long, refined finish. Drinking at or near its peak now — ideally through 2030. Decant for at least 1–2 hours to allow the wine to fully open up. Handle with care.

Why This Is a Smart Buy

At HK$799, the 2007 Art Series Cabernet is one of the most significant aged Australian wines available in Hong Kong. With 96–97pt scores, 18 years of bottle age, and Leeuwin's unmatched reputation, this is as much a collector's piece as it is a drinking wine. Bottles of this vintage at this age rarely come to market — this is a genuine cellar find.
