The 2015 Morgon les Charmes comes from 70-year-old vines and is aged in 400-liter demi-muids. It has an appealing bouquet of red cherries intermingling with loganberries and a touch of cassis. The palate is well balanced with sappy red fruit, just a touch of bubblegum emerging toward the finish that oddly reminds me of a cool-climate South African Pinotage! Make of that what you will. But it is a pleasant Morgon that should give four or five years of drinking pleasure.
